New door fitted and all working. Had to remove the tint from the glass in the new door.
Rear quarters and door did not need any paint which is excellent news :)
All in all it looks better than the door that was on there.

yes i am pleased with the result - no trip to the bodyshop and no dealing with the insurance etc - having said that it was a fair bit of work to get everything done but i had help from newkid to get the door swapped over and merlin gave me a hand with wiring the door speaker back in. I think its ready for the Mot in 12 days time. :)

It's a great fix, I couldn't believe the difference.

Thanks for the kind comments. :)
I should mention the unforseen complication in that there was no connector between the door and main loom - on my BB1 it is all one piece - on all other ludes there has always been a connector in the door loom so you can unplug it and take the door off. Bit of an odd one and might be something to do with it being made in December 1991 which is very early in production - so maybe they changed the design of the loom later on.

Great work Vanzep. Glad you fixed it.

Like yours, mine has no loom connector in the door either, it's an early '91 too.

Went for Mot this morning.
Straight pass no advisories 178,415 miles.
Some nice comments from the tester - nice clean car and said i had caught up on everything and they would welcome the car back in the garage next year.
Still got a bit of a rattle from the driver side rear when going over rough surface...and the new passenger door needs aligned a tiny bit...but then i am very fussy
