Hi! I've just become the proud owner of a 1999 Motegi Manual with only 32k on the clock! Been looking at these cars for some time now so couldn't pass up on this one...
Let me know if you have advice on things to look out for etc!

Cheers,
Mike

welcome to LG :)
with only 32k on the clock there should not be much apart from basic maintenance but that all depends on what the history is and what has already been replaced.
really low miles and good colour/spec - youve done well

That's a nice example mate at 32k must of been put in a garage for a few years things to look out as most people would tell you on here rust the Honda's friend especially round the rear arches are you keeping it standard or you going to mod it ? Where you based ?

Thanks! It's got an interesting history- did 31k miles in its first 5 years of life and then seems to have sat in a garage since then... bought it with the private plates of the original owner.

Had £2k spent on it last year at a honda specialist, they replaced the timing belt, brakes all round (plus painted the calipers) new pgmfi relay, new hoses for the power steering as there was a minor leak there. Plus a few other bits and bobs.

Got her booked in at a local indie honda garage to sort out a fuel gauge issue (stuck at quarter tank until fuel level drops below that, drivierside window seems to die when it's 3 thirds of the way up).

Love the drive, I'm having the lude as a serious upgrade to my '99 lexus is200. 8)

Hi and welcome, well done picking one up at such low mileage!
The 99 on's are the most desirable UK models, because they have the H22A8 'red-top'.

If it doesn't have any rust in the rear arches, the important thing to do is to get them properly treated inside with Dinitrol asap, to keep them that way (relatively easy job to take out the interior enough to access those areas).
Other than that, you've already checked about the cambelt so the only thing left is to see if it had the recall for the ignition switch done at a Honda dealer - if the recall hasn't been done... enjoy the look on their faces when you go in and request it for a 24 year old car

The red top is on my list of things to sort out! The paint is a bit flaky on there so I'll be sprucing that up when I get a moment (no one will ever see it but it'll make me feel better knowing its looking vibrant under the hood  )

Haha! I've just looked that up as I was totally unaware of it. I don't remember reading anything in the car paperwork about it but will double check. There was also a recall to do with ball joints so I'll give honda a call!

Good shout re the arches. I've got lanoguard en route of which I intend to use on the car ASAP as long as there's a bit of dry weather (I'm in the northwest where it seems to rain approximately 300 of the 365 days per year  )
