I thought these came with the 225 (ish) bhp tune, much like the jdm ep3 compare to the uk spec 198/197 (respectively) bhp. But then, I see what you mean if you're referring to the weight as well.
Apparently, these are in a class of their own when compared to UK type r. Handle a lot betterer

They came with 217 bhp but in actual fact most were making 237bhp
.
Also had propper rear suspension. None of this torsion beam pap.

The fd2 is more hardcore than any other type R bar the NSX. It beat the dc5 on the honda test circuit by 4 seconds. It's a completely different animal to the uk's crappy fn2.

Thanks guys. Yeah the japanese thought it would be too hardcore for the UK market so we got the fn2.
This civic has more power and is actually lighter than the hatch despite the longer wheelbase. And looks much better too in my opinion.
