You have a very posh garage Sailor

Yes, a shame to miss you, but there was a show on and I went for a walk!

Yes, that is a good look.
Compare with mine, which I think is standard CL7:-

Just seeing this..
I really like cl7’s would love to own a proper one but sadly they hold a big premium over a normal cl9 here in Aus, average condition euro R’s go for 20k+, my cl9 was 5k

That almost certainly makes a CL9 better value. Not that I'd admit it.

Found these photos from previous work I did on the car so thought id put em on as documentation of what the cars had..

This was the state of the caster bushes

New nolethane bushes fitted

these are the coilovers, BC racing V1-VH … one step below BR golds.. I think they are probably pretty similar to Meister R’s

Tires are Hankook RS4’s

Front end stripped for head lights to be cleaned up

Also did gearbox oil flush and put a smooth shift additive in it as it felt abit bulky but I now know that the engine mounts failing have caused the shift cables to wear and feel abit jobby and in-precise..

I do plan on buying a new shifter and cables once I finally get a new front engine mount..
Put her up on the hoist last week and can confirm there’s no more leaks from power steering and the steering feels really nice now after getting the alignment done to my own “fast road” specs.. 0 toe front and 0.5 rear toe in.
Did find that the rh rear wheel bearing is slightly noisey so new wheel bearings and I want extended studs with spacers to improve fitment..

Not much been going on with this but got a few things in the pipeline..
one thing that bugs me about the cl9 is all the chrome trim, cl7’s have black trim around windows and colour coded door handles and grill but pretty hard to come by here in oz so I thought I’d have a go at doing what everyone else does and paint the window trim.
I’ve seen other people do it with plasti-dip and I had half a can so thought I’d give it a go..

Masking may have been overkill

The results were not great… good from far, but far from good…

If anyone is thinking of doing this I recommend de masking when it’s still pretty wet but take care not to touch the wet stuff, it does get abit messy…

Some touch ups were required.. :|

Overall I think if I was to do it again I would pair them properly using etch prime and satin black, would be more work but I think it would be a better finish…

Hard to really even see the difference in pictures but those who know will know  ;)

Some may notice I’ve fitted some black and white number plates too :wtf:

More stuff has happened…

Colour coded the bonnet trim.. (strip above grill)

Today I finally made my cheap ass DIY exhaust..
Cut the old duel exhaust off..

New bits..

all welded up..

Finished product

This cost about $200 all in I think.. not bad, looks alright but most impressive is the weight savings.. those duel silencers were heavy!
