No, I was testing various flight modes, and on this particular one it did half a roll which I wasn't expecting it to do, and by the time I realised what it was doing there wasn't enough time to recover so it hit the ground pretty hard.

This was the only bit which broke though, all props are in tact.

It happened again :(

This time caused by a prop failure (you can see the red on nearest camera is missing a blade) at 30 feet, resulting in the quad plummeting to the ground out of control.

cant you put a spare engine in the centre to give it stability by turning off the other engines should it start falling

Interesting concept, but I'm guessing it wouldn't work as it wouldn't have a tail rotor to counteract the rotation like on a helicopter.
