ATR Brakes

Post by Dino » Sun Feb 26, 2012 10:02 pm

Small update:

This Friday, I had my MOT for the prelude.

Unfortunately she failed on a few items. Low headlight, number plate bulb out, loose switchgear and two small leaks from the banjo bolt washers on the front calipers.

So I took the car and popped to my office where I found I had received a delivery from Performance Auoworks.

Full Polybush set:

& EP3 Bremtec Grooved 300mm discs that Richie had re-drilled for 4G Fitment

I popped to my local motor factors and picked up some new banjo bolt washers and some metal brackets for mounting the switchgear.

So with a little help from Matt (STKPrelude) we set to work with sorting the MOT issues.

1st Port of call....
Fitting the new discs and Accord Type-R twin pot calipers.

After fitting them and bleeding the brakes we were left with this. (Apologies for the dirty wheels)

I went out for a quick drive to bed the pads in to the new discs and I have to say I am pretty impressed with the braking results.

With a little help on here I maaged to get the headlight adjustment sorted and bulb changed for the number plate light.

Next job was to mount my hazard and front and rear foglights.

For the moment this is a bodge job made from metal brackets and a piece of fibreboard from teh bottom of a drawer  But im planning to use the temporary switch holder as a template for a more permanent fixture.

Fingers crossed she flies through the MOT

How are you finding the Tyres? I noticed a smaller width and Yokos.

Nice one Marc.

Nice choice on the brakes - look tidy tucked behind your new wheels. 8)

Nice switch panel! Not alot left inside the cabin then!

Good luck with the poly bushing - you attempting yourself?

Ratty: Tyres are great. Grip is great for road use and okay for track. I could do with 215 width Yokos for track but they cost a fortune (£200+ a tyre).

Nathan: Got to go with what you have for a temporary bodge :)

Rob: Yup, the 300mm discs certainly fill the space behind the 16's. The interior is a little sparce, but there is loads more to come out. I'll be sorting the bushing myself, but thanks to Merlin, I'll have a nice guide to follow.
