You will need to swap, engine, ecu, dizzy, injectors and either modify the existing engine bay wiring loom, or swap that too.

The gearbox is optional, but the gearing would work best with a h22 specific box, plus you could also add a lsd at the same time.

Would you go for the LSD ive heard the box is slightly temperamental? I have thought about it tho. I was thinking of bacically getting hold of a h from an accord type r for the lot.

Cheers

Y2Q7 lsd box from an accord type R is a popular upgrade but the pre-face boxes are known to be temperamental vs a facelift one. a M2B4 from an import h22 is good too but not as good. really depends if you are doing trackdays, otherwise an lsd is not mega important for road use i would say

I'd agree. Until I had put grippier tyres on, it was hard to tell what affect the LSD even had truth be told. This was the diff from ATR Y2Q7 put into my late '00 prelude (which has the same ratios, shorter 3rd gear).

On the road, the LSD with grippy tyres is actually quite unpleasant. The car will search out the grip of its own accord. Driving at a constant 60mph on the m25, road repairs where they have joined segments with pitch to seal the gaps, the cars turns all by itself. Country roads where the gutter dips, anything over 40mph, the car wants to turn you into the ditch. These affects will be less on normal tyres, more forgiving suspension etc.

Also as stated, most ATR gearboxes may be past their best. I bought one 'apparently good' only for Rich at PAW to tell me it was buggered (except the diff) so quite a job to merge 2 boxes and refit.

Cheers all.

To be honest the LSD whould be lost on me. I drive her around my town and maybe 20 miles past. repairing and getting her back on road after 2 years sat in my driveway, its time for a vtec. Lol

I thought the Accord TypeR gearbox was U2Q7 (where is the Y coming from) :wtf:

I suspect its a typo as Y and U are adjacent on a keyboard.
