I've just found your guide on doing it on a fourth gen.

I know you said you're not super familiar but how different are 4th/5th gens in the 4WS area? Seems to be a lot more information out there for 4th gen 4WS.

I've got the 4th gen 4WS diagnostics book. Man, it's incredibly detailed. Just wish I could find the one for 5th gen!

I've rang a couple of breakers to see if they can get me the sensors for cheap. Will be good to at least have some potentially working parts on hand for this.

Other than replacing sensors I've followed the 4th gen 4WS diagnostics section and, while the wiring is a bit different, I'm able to piece together which voltages are where for the 5th gen and it all seems "OK".

I'll delve deeper into the wiring over this week and will have my mechanic take a look as well.

Any other things I can try?

A link to a proper 5th Gen 4WS diag book would be proper useful.

I've tracked down a Polish version of the 5th gen manual which has debugging procedures for the 4WS. I can translate if anyone wants a specific error code debug procedure outlining. I was thinking to translate the whole 4WS section since it's only about 20 or so pages. Worthwhile?

That would be awesome help for 5g owners I think - the 4ws section is what they are all missing (pretty much everything else is covered by the yank version).

I've mostly finished translating the 5th gen 4WS section from Polish and will post it soon. I want to get a native Pole to look over it as I am not an expert in Polish.

HOWEVER.

I followed the instructions in the manual and it led me to believe I had a faulty sensor. I bought a replacement unit from some guy locally (Yoshi from PTP, what a good guy!) and hooked it up via the sensors/power and reset the 4WS. The replacement had a broken rear sub sensor and when I fired it up it threw code 23.

I replaced the main sensor (which I believed to be broken) and I still got code 21.

Any ideas now? I'm not 100% sure how to do the neutral position reset but I will give it another go. Any tips would be really appreciated! :)
