Lude Generation

I am undecided on a what new coilovers to get for my 5th gen, the MesiterR ZetaCRD (spring rates front 9kg rear 6kg) or Tein Flex Z with the additional EDFC control (spring rates front 10kg rear 6kg). I have a set of MeisterR GT1's on my 4th gen and they are very nice, so I expect the ZetaCRD to be the same, I had Tein Basic's on my old 5th gen which were also good. I like the idea of the EDFC on the Tein's but also unsure of what exact EDFC to go for.

Any thoughts?

For the road, I know @Scott560 has the TEIN Z on his which he finds a little harsh, though a pair of springs at a lower rate can be had for £85, so that's solvable.

I have the street advance (which are softer) with the EDFC Active PRO kit attached, though I had to modify the top hats from an accord to make it all fit (the streets use OEM top hats which are huge).

I like the concept of the EDFC, though have not had the chance to use it for a good length of time as the car is on a winter upgrade plan, though you can definitely dial it from comfortable to rock solid easily.

The basic EDFC seems to just replicate the old system and is really a substitute for manually adjusting under the bonnet.
The Active is a step better as it will adjust the front or rear accordingly based on G force and speed, which will improve the control over accelerating and braking.
The Active PRO takes this a step further and also compensates for lateral g force round corners, effectively making the suspension fully active.

I went for the Active PRO because the advantage offered is significant when considered against the Active alone. The Basic EDFC does not really offer much other than a convenience for setup.

I'm so warm to the Meister R Gt1 form.


I ran the flex z on my s660 and found them giggly and harsh, went with Spoon full spec dampers at £3000 shipped and they are way worse. different car though.

Thanks for the info and opinion. I am swaying towards the MeisterR's at the moment, if I do, I'll get the damper extension cables for the rears.
