Direct question:
What do you replace rear control arms with?
It is still possible to get the inner bushing and for 4th gen the replaceable ball joint is EOL and for the 5th gen the ball joint is non replace-able.

Are there any news in this area? I can find 5th gen arms for ~160 in amayama, but seems pretty expensive. Hardrace? Or maybe it is possible to replace the ball joints for 5th gen arms?

and polybushes for them

other than that i suspect its a second hand job from a breaker :?

Are control arms from the accord type r compatible. I do seem to remember somebody mentioning them a long time ago.....
I also have a spare ball joint from a 4th gen but as the 4th gen I have now is 4ws I could part with it if someone needed it. I think it is the right hand one but would have to check

There are no issues with that end, the headache is the joint side. :)

From the schemes, seems that there are no similar parts. :(

There should not be any difference for 2ws.

If I had to solve this, I'd cut the balljoint off the arm and cut a thread on the bar so that I could just screw an off the shelf balljoint onto it.

On 2ws 4th gens the ball joint is sided as there are two bolt holes at angles so they are marked L left and R right

Can you explain this a bit more?
You're talking about 4th gen arm as it has a flat end?

Maybe I misunderstood you, but it should not make any sense if both side come from LHD or RHD.
If one is needed, then yes, you need the correct side.

As in the link in the first post, the guy mentions some nissan as 1:1 part.
I'm thinking as Drax wrote, use poly in the stock shell.
