Interesting. Why would someone want to remove the 4ws? Would there be any benefit in that?
As a road car - absolutely none, no. The car is better with 4WS.

As Scott has said, if being turned into a hardened track car it is generally preferred to be 2WS. Other than that, the only other reason is if it's faulty and someone decides not to fix it.

ive run my 4g at least 12+ times on track days giving it the full beans and never had an issue with my 4ws, whether its working at the time or not.

some owners have a trust issue with it, especially on track days but ive never heard of anyone actually have a problem or accident caused by 4ws.

I have never had an issue with 4WS driving on track, my 5th gen was always very balanced.

4WS doing its thing on a small sprint track, ignore the tyre and you can see the rim moving closer and further away from the line of the rear bumper:

This vid is so old I have a Prelude UK sticker on my helmet! :D

Yep, I'm not slagging 4WS off for use on track (enjoying a road car for occasional hard on the track) in the slightest.
I said hardened track car - e.g. Merlin's fully stripped out SLS (Time Attack) 4G, which was 2WS.
Everyone seems to go for that set up in that situation -\_('-')_/-

bare in mind theres quite a weight saving for swapping to 2WS from 4WS. if i ever went full track hack and weight loss, i'd remove 4WS, sunroof mech, PS, TCS, empty the boot of water and keep all of the rust as its lighter than carbon fibre.

Hey fellas, update- took my prelude to the honda guy near me, he's needs to fit a new fuel sending unit for me and I got him to look at the 4ws.

He said that they had some sort of box/tool which was specifically designed for diagnosing issues with prelude 4ws but he doesn't have this box/tool (can't find anything about this thing online) he said to call up a few honda garages and see if they can help. It's not a priority for me at the moment but I'd definitely have it as a job for the future just to restore the car to its original glory.

Any wisdom from you folks would be marvellous x
