Edus Track Day Bedford Autodrome 30/082013 PICTURES
Me and my best mate Luke (Some of you met him at the National meet with his red FN2 Type R.
We paid half each for a public track day. Worked out £75 each for 3 hours track time. We took both our cars as I wanted to use mine. We was told we could only use one car. Took mine out, did the first couple of laps absolutely fine. Did 3 fast laps and my brakes caught on fire, big orange flames from the pads! Luckily they agreed that we could take Luke's car out for the rest of the day as I only had 3 laps.
Any way, for my first time I can honestly say it was one of the best driving experiences I've ever done and would highly recommend it to everyone! Oh and by the way we quickly realised that EVO magazine were there with our own cars. Mmmmmmm ready for the pictures.. Sadly not as many Hondas as I'd liked to be there. 40 cars on the track, 20 at a time.
This Mclaren was on the track. OH MY GOD!!!
Nice picture of the sun set:
This home made kit car was insane round the bends!
Nice Teg Type R with Skunk 2 exhaust and buddy club coilovers
Had a few laps in my mate Evo
Ariel Atom
And finally..
I've got loads more pictures but you get the idea.
Lesson learnt £50 for brake disks and pads are good for road but not the track!

Took all the pictures with my iPhone. Are you local to Bedford then?

We did the 2.8 mile circuit. Was absolutely brilliant but then again it was my first time!

Which bits of the brakes was it that were on fire edu? Pads I'm assuming? If so as a minimum you'll need to replace the pads and bleed through some brake fluid. If you can see any serious discoloration or any cracking on the discs, or feel any judder in the brakes, you'll need to replace the discs again too...

We did the Bedford GT circuit novice half day last october. It was my first time on track with our own cars so thought a novice day would be ideal. (less cars and drivers with the same level experience)

It was awesome. Seems like you had an awesome time to and some nice cars too
Brakes are a definite must. I completely refurbed my brakes. Re-bleed with Castrol react fluid. New rear callipers, new front & rear OEM discs, new oem rear pads and DS2500 front pads which performed brilliant. All the mods we do our cars all make sense when go on track. The car just comes alive
Looking to go again this November, this time a standard full day once my brother has finished some work to his civic.
Cant wait

Sounds good, @wurlycorner it looked like it was coming from the pad on the drivers side only.
Disks look fine but the brake pedal is much lower so does need bleeding but its working fine so not urgent. When I get some money together I'm going to get some decent brakes. But ill be keeping these for a while.
We should all do a track day local, Bedford auto drome was a quick circuit so we should arrange to do one down here for the people who can't make the Scotland one. Great experience for first timers like me!
