To clarify - that's In Car Entertainment - not frozen water

Keyless Entry

Post by Gayno » Tue Dec 06, 2011 8:03 pm

Has anyone got any links/info on fitted aftermarket keyless entry?

Not the normal fob with button type, but the RFID (I presume) that unlocks when you walk upto the car.

I spent an hour looking last night and couldn't really find anything :(

Fraid not. But that does sound pretty good. My battery has run out in the key and the charging bit for it is damaged (and due to the cover falling off repeatedly a few years ago it's been superglued on  ), so I can only lock/unlock the car using the key itself :(

Yeah, seems there's not much in the aftermarket for this.

Will see if my dad can come up with anything (he's an Atmel programmer)

Crikey, I remeber writing (attempting to write ) code for the ARM processor at Uni. Complicated stuff.

Yeah, he's bloody good at it though!

I asked him if he could write something to control the colour of a RGB LED.......I had it in my hand, albeit on a test board, in under 5 mins!

Nice. It's something I'd love to look in to on the side, I love little electrical projects that I can do in my spare time. And once you know how to do it you can really make some interesting things.

Apparently Atmel do have a design already for PKE (Passive Keyless Entry) and he's seen it demo'd. He's going to look into it for me :)

I thought there was a ultra rare option on the 4G that there was a sensor on the door handle and when you walk next to it, it opens up.. There were some pictures of this as well.
