You are right. Benny was close. His engine was fully stripped and rebuilt I think. TBH the exhaust doesn't give that much over a certain point. I saw no increase in peak power by going up to 3" (yet ).
Remember that white 4G with all the engine work that was up for sale? That was using OEM 11:1 comp pistons with Skunk2 cams. On the face of it it's engine was not too dissimilar to my one.
IMO the cost purely depends on how much power you want to go hunting for. With Na an extra 10 bhp (going from 250-260) might cost you a couple of grand Also with these builds it is not the peak power that is the most noticeable thing, the huge increase in 3K rpm torque is awesome
I am inpatient so I would go for all new bits which obviously costs more than 2nd hand

if you have the money... you not found the 3" exhaust made much difference...oh! that surprises me, is it because of your mani and downpipe? I sense something "in the make" here you want to keep hush
yeh that white 4g was very similar indeed, didn't quite have some of your awesome build but it wasn't too far off!

that will be interesting to see a lot of people ask what you can get from an a7 lumpNafemanNathan wrote:My 5th gen with a standard A7 lump and decent breathing mods will be going for a re-tune soon. With the parameters of the AEM EMS being completely tunable it'll be interesting to see exactly what an A7 is capable of.
I'll be running on Tesco Momentum99 though as that's what I use daily.
